Spider-Man/Black Cat: The Evil That Men Do #5

Background

Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat, is held prisoner at Ryker's Island. Spider-Man and Daredevil try to bust her out. Which is not necessary since Francis, Klum's major domo, teleports her out of there.

Story 'Trickle Down'

Ryker's Island. The alarm goes off, Spider-Man and Daredevil are on the floor as the guards move in. They secure the area as Daredevil and Spidey hide in an air duct. The guards that were lying dead on the floor aren't dead.

On top of a something tall, Francis tells Felicia about his youth. His big brother Garrison helped him out when he was in school, in return he wanted certain favours from him, things brothers are not supposed to do. Francis gives Felicia her costume and then tells more about his background. When his mom died, he first found out he could teleport. Later, he learned he could make people do what he wanted.

Elsewhere, Daredevil and Spider-Man are met by Nightcrawler. He tells them about how Nazi's in WWII experimented on people. The results of this are passed down from child to child. Thus revealing how both Garrison and Francis can teleport.

Francis explains to Felicia that he and Garrison started a business. At first, he would persuade people to try Garrison's heroin. Garrison would teleport it directly into their bloodstream. Business was good, and Garrison wanted another favour of Francis, not for the sex, just so show who's in charge. The 'prompting' didn't work on Garrison. And when Francis saw him with Felicia, about to violate her, he did the only thing that he could think of.

Elsewhere, Nightcrawler says that when looking at the photo of Garrison, somebody teleported into the man's body and exploded him from the inside out. When telling about Ryker's Island to Nightcrawler, he tells Daredevil and Spider-man about some internet chat. It turns out, Felicia knew Francis was coming.

It seems Francis and Felicia are on the Queensboro Bridge. Francis cries, he killed his brother. He wants to go away. Felicia can help him. Why? She's been raped too.

General Comments

Twisted, sick, those two words come to mind when reading issue 5 of this series. And the cliffhanger, man, I've had enough of this rape thing. Please, get on with the story. Nothing happened, it was all explain, explain and explain. Please, get on with it.

And that bridge, please, don't go there, it would be so lame.... oh well, after next issue we'll know.

Yep, I did not like this issue, not for a moment. Too far fetched. Did I really have to wait 3 years for this garbage? Still 2 webs, Terry and Rachel Dodson get 1 web each, Kevin Smith gets none.
