1996 Fleer/Skybox Spider-Man Premium: Eternal Evil
After the excesses of the previous year's 1995 Fleer Ultra Spider-Man, this 1996 set from the newly-merged (and Marvel-Owned) Fleer/Skybox was a return to something a little more reasonable.
There were 100 cards in the base set (including a checklist), plus two chase sets (6 Canvas, 3 Holomotion). The high-quality artwork was specially commissioned from a range of artists. The art was darker than usual, and explored the themes of evil and madness. Card design was creative and varied.
Three different pack designs, with 8 cards per pack and 36 packs per box. No folder, no signature-editions, no over-sized masterwork versions, and (as far as I'm aware) no uncut promo sheets. The chase set cards were a little hard to get hold of, but nothing was unreasonably hard-to-find.
