Marvel purchased Fleer Corporation (aka "Fleer International") in July 1992. The previous Spider-Man trading card license holder Comic Images produced no more Spider-Man cards after that time.
It took Fleer a couple of years to get themselves organized, but they kicked-off officially with a bang in 1994, calling on the services of new fan-favorite Spider-Man artist Mark Bagley and producing a monster set which greatly expanded on preceding releases. The result is quite a test for completist collectors like myself.
Packs contained 8 cards, a box contained 36 packs.
