I am a 24 year old Spider-Man fan. Currently I am a graduate student at Michigan State University majoring in American History. My earliest memories of Spider-Man come from religiously watching the wonderful Animated Series that aired on Fox in the early 1990s. It took me awhile to get into comic books. However, the introduction of Ultimate Spider-Man in 200 really piqued my interest.
My current favorites are Ultimate Spider-Man, any Batman comic book, Daredevil, Captain America, and New Avengers
I collect because Spider-Man and superheroes are pop culture history. They're great stories in the spirit of classic Greek myths. They tell us so much about the world we live in. As I get older, superheroes remind me to have fun and are a major source of comfort.
