Scarlet is battling Tombstone, who's recently escaped from prison, atop an armoured car. Tombstone KO's the driver and the truck veers towards a restaurant. Scarlet jumps in front of the truck and prevents it from ploughing into the building Superman-style. Scarlet clonks Tombstone around the head with a lamp-post and knocks him out cold while Kaine looks on.
At Kraven's old mansion, The Grim Hunter is getting ready to take on Spider-Man. Elsewhere, on some carrier, Scarlet is kicking arse of some group called ARES. Betty and Ken Ellis are both trying to get the story. Again elsewhere, Kaine is having a vision of MJ being murdered. He says he must act. In Pittsburgh, MJ is getting ready to return to New York after reconciling with her family.
The Grim Hunter is on Scarlet's scent, going via the carrier, while Ben reveals that he dislikes the Scarlet name. Scarlet drops by Betty's to give her an interview (he still remembers Betty as 'his' first girlfriend. The Grim Hunter drops by just after Scarlet has left, then continues off on Scarlet's trail.
I like that Ben remembers Betty as his first girlfriend. At least Mackie has done some research for the book. I'm not convinced by the Grim Hunter as a villain but let's see where things go. There's not a lot of story here to fill the whole book.
