Marvel Heroes Activity & Sticker Book (Alligator)

Background

This soft-card covered book is 8 1/4" x 11 3/4". There's 16 pages of crisp white paper with B&W line art, plus a two-page centerfold of full color stickers.

Story Details

The art is the same as can be found in the Marvel Heroes Colouring & Activity Pad (Alligator), just a lot less of it (naturally). Again, it's that computer line-traced art, mechanically reconstituted from splash pages out of Ultimate and a few other covers. The art is terrible, it looks awkward and misformed. Such a shame to waste good paper on it.

There are a few "puzzles" in here, but most of them are some sort of sick joke. For example, there's a hulk "Wordsearch" puzzle that gives an 11 x 12 grid of letters, and a lousy four words for you to find! Can you say "ripped-off" kiddies?

The only vaguely redeeming feature is the stickers, which are full-color high-quality art reproductions from various comic book covers, posters, and such.

General Comments

This is a UK-only book. Printed price is three pounds, which is way too much. I picked it up at a remainder shop for a couple of quid, but even so... this book is rubbish.

Overall Rating

Pretty cover and stickers, but the rest is a rip-off. One and a half webs.
