Do you know who the real Spider-Man is?

Look, go back and tell your Boss, Kingpin, the same answer I've given you the last hundred times... Spider-man trusted me with his secret identity. I don't care how much money you're offering, I gave him my word, and I'm not about to betray Peter Parker for anyth... Oh Shoot! I just blew it, didn't I?

From JCarriere

Boy, you put out new issues of Peter Parker's Pad about as often as I trim my toe nails.

OK, that is DEFINITELY too much information.

From Gustavo

I HAVE JUST READ THE FINAL ISSUE OF PETER PARKER SPIDER MAN AND IT IS TERRIBLE ! PETER LEARNS THAT AUNT MAY IS ALIVE, NORMAN ORSBORN IS DEFEATED AND GONE INSANE, THE DAILY BUGLE BUIDING IS DESTROYED AND PETER GIVE UP BEING SPIDER-MAN, AND HE, MARY JANE AND AUNT MAY ARE GOING TO LIVE TOGETHER BECAUSE MJ NOW HAS A NEW SUPERMODEL JOB AND THEY ARE RICH ! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT ! IT STINKS ! .THE ONLY GOOD THING IS A JOHN BYRNE DOUBLE COVER !

Ummm... Actually, I don't think the cover was that good.

I went to your site and was very impressed. I read the section on copyright laws and how everything was unofficial. You stated that most of the stuff written was in your own words, but what about using text written by Todd McFarlane. After I read Torment, I had an idea to write it out on paper. There was not a lot of dialogue, so I took all the narration and typed it out. It's a hell of a story, by just reading the text. That was 8 years ago.

Recently I started my own web page and now I would like to put these writings on the internet. Can I do this? Even if I give all credit to Marvel and McFarlane up front? I want to get opinions from other people, I have 4 other writings that I would like to put on the internet also, Kraven's Last Hunt, Perceptions (Wolverine & Wendigo), an issue with Thanos and another with Ghost Rider. I even sent these writings to Marvel 8 years ago, just to see if they would like to see them in a different light. They gave me the expected brush-off.

Any ideas on what I should do or am allowed to do?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Well, to be honest, I think you would be crossing the line. Reproducing major parts of other's work in essentially the same context is... well... it's plagerism at best.

Not only that, it's McFarlane. I mean, Marvel has other problems right now, but McFarlane may just have enough time and energy to come knocking on your door - and that would be embarassing!

Then again, extracting the text from Kraven's Last Hunt... that should only take a couple of paragraphs!

From countryman-23

i would enjoy to have this page thank you.

Oh... What the Heck! It's yours! Give me your address and I'll mail you a ZIP disk...

Take good care of it, won't you? Remember to keep feeding it new material... and if it complains, just flame gently...

Well, I think that's is. I'm off to the Bahamas. I need a break!

From David Kalen

What happened to David Kalen? Not to mention his brother...

Well... first, you tell me what happened to Jonathan Couper.

From Robert

I am trying to do some research on the name, Forienger (actually it was von Forienger when it came to the US in 1862) and found the comment, "Macendale, after becoming Hobby, offed several of Forienger's guys" during a recent search. If you have any information on where the spelling came from or the address of anyone else who might help, I'd appreciate it.

It's a TYPO! *sob*

Hi fellow lovers of the Marvel Age of Comics!

I'm writing you to ask for your help in getting the word out about a petition/survey I've put together, a survey designed to show Marvel there's strong fan demand for NEW volumes of the Marvel Masterworks hardcover reprint series.

The survey only a minute to complete. Aggregate data will be presented to Marvel to show them the market is REAL for NEW books.

[Ed - Online Poll no longer available, link removed.]

Proposed new volumes concentrate on the 60's titles, but space is provided for "write-ins" like Timely reprints from the 40's, key early 70's titles like Conan, or Millie The Model.

Already over 130 people have completed the questionnaire; I want to get that number up toward 500 in November. Toward the end of next month I'll sum everything up and publish the results on the Internet as well as to each respondent. All individual data remains confidential and won't be used for any purpose other than this survey.

If the survey looks to you like something your audience would like to know about, please add a link on your site, a mention in your 'News' section, and/or a plug in your newsletter or mailing list.

You heard the man. What are you waiting for? Get voting!
