Jonathan,

While looking around your Spider-Man site, I couldn't help noticing a mistake in your biographical data of Spider-Man. It says that Spider-Man was once in the Avengers. But in the comics he TRIED to get in the Avengers but the National Security Council denied his membership. Just wanted to let you know.

Zeus

Bryan did a bit of research on this, and found a reference in the Avengers Members Guide, in issue #400. Under the Spider-Man heading, it states:

Spider-Man (Peter Parker)
Thirtieth Recruit
Joined AVENGERS #329
(as non-member ally) AV 11, 59-60, 85, 118, 196, 235-237, 258, 314-318,
(as Peter Parker, non-member) AV 82, 168, 298,
(as member) AV 329-330, 333

Spider-Man was asked to join (but declined) in Amazing Spider-Man Annual #3, and later applied in Amazing #235-#237, but was then declined for security reasons.

Jonathan,

I've started a Marvel reprints web page:

Could I add your Spider-Man reprints page as a link?

Of course! We have a whole massive section of Spider-Man Reprints. But check out Arthur's Marvel reprints page if you're looking for a much more general guide to reprints of Marvel Comics from the Silver Age!

I recently received a link to your site that mentioned about you having a official Spider-Man mailing list. I couldn't find it, and was wondering if you could give me the link so I could join. I would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, we don't have an official mailing list. You could always start one!

Check the FAQ for more information.

why do you portray the character "Punisher" as a villain on your web site its just not correct even through spider-mans eyes hes an ally so I don't know where you came up with the idea that hes a villain.

Well... A quick flick through my Punisher collection shows that every week (assume three titles, Marvel time five months = one month, 20 kills per issue, assume only 50% of stories told, divide by six, carry the one) Frank Castle, a.k.a. The Punisher kills approximately 45.2 people. Now, surely someone who kills over 2000 people each year has to be just a little bit bad?

Oh, all right, I'll change him to be listed as a Vigilante! Is that better?

Hello,

I am interested in banner advertisements on the "Peter Parker's Pad" website. Could you please send information on price packages, traffic flow, and anything else that might help me with my decision :)

Ehem? Now, I can see Marvel tolerating the occasional 'Fan' site - but paid advertising? Nope, I think that would be pushing the boundaries. Thanks Cindy, but I'll pass on this one! (And I didn't even ask what she wanted to sell!)

Can you help me find a CD copy of the original Spider Man themes from the 1970's television series? I would literally kill to have a copy of that music but I don't have a clue as to who created it or where it might be available. Please send any information you have. I would be in your debt.

Remember that funky guitar riff punctuated by a trio of horns? Wah-wah-wah-wah-wah-wah, Wah-wah-wah-wah-wah-wah, Wah-wah-wah-wah-wah-wah, Wah-wah-wah-wah-wah-wah . . . na-na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na-na-na . . . na-na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na-na-na.

I know, I am being a nerd . . . but I would be grateful for your help.

Literally kill? *Gulp*! There's a man devoted to the cause. Sorry I can't help. Maybe I'll read about it in the New York times - if you find someone who doesn't want to part with theirs without a little 'Encouragement'.

Out of the few sites dedicated to my favorite wallcrawler, I thoroughly enjoy yours. I'm a student up here in the states (University of Georgia to be exact) and an art student. Even though I'm more of a "fine artist" by nature, I've never relinquished my fervent love for comics (even at the incessant complaints of art teachers). I don't have that much time to doodle comics (or even read them for that matter), but in my summertime boredom, I managed to squeeze out one panel of a project that's been on the back burner for so long. I hope you like the pics that I sent, and maybe more will follow. Take care.

Boon's art was so fantastic that it inspired us to start our Fans : Art page.

I was just looking at the SpiderMan Himself page and I noticed that under former aliases he was known as 'The Amazing Bag Man'?!? Could you please explain this one to me?

Well... on at least one occasion, Peter has heard the call to battle, without having a Spider-Man outfit handy. A grocery bag was called into service (paper, not plastic) and Ta Da!!! The Amazing Bag-Man was born.

Now, don't ask me what issues this might have occured in. Did it happen once during Secret Wars I? I'm sure there was at least one other. It's an ongoing joke.

HAVE U EVA THOUGHT ABOUT HAVIN' A PREVIEW SECTION: LIKE SAY IN THA JUNE ISSUE U COULD'VE HAD RELEASES FOR SEPT. JUSS THOUGHT IT WOULD BE COOL FOR THOSE THAT CAN'T GET THAT INFO.

NAH U CAN GET THAT AT THE KOOL MARVEL SITE ANYWAY. AND OTHER PLACES THAT ALREADY DO IT SO WHAT'S THE POINT RIGHT?

From Greg & Annie Herd

In your villain listing you do not have Override and Aura listed. The characters have been re-introduced in The Sensational Spider-Man (MAR 25) "A Double-Sized Blockbuster" and continued in "The Spectacular Spider-Man" (MAR 255). The characters first appeared a year and a half ago in the spectacular spider-man. I can find out the exact issu if you want. They where also issued as trading cards.

If you happen to be able to read The Sensational Spider-Man (MAR #25) take notice of Override's and Aura's real names...

Sincerely,

Greg & Annie Herd (no joke)

Yeah, so what's the big dea... Oh... Hey, that's spooky! Well... take my advice. If you're thinking about building a cybernetic costume, you should know that it's all going to end in tears, OK?

From Pete

Hey thanks! Checked out your homepage and all my friends think I am a big movie star now. I was wondering if you could do me a favor and add to the sentence after my pic that would say. "This Spider-Man is still looking for a Mary Jane, so ladies, don't be shy. Email him at pnorbot@hotmail.com." Thanks again! Your webpage kicks ass!!!

Pete

Heh, heh! Un-official Spider-Man page and Super-Model/Super-Hero matching agency!

From Jeremy (in Australia)

Jonathan,

Just a quick note to let you know that I've been visiting your Spider-Man site for over a year and have found that the recent additions and improvements really make the site enjoyable! You've got the best collection of spidey info on the net - great for anyone who actually wants to KNOW something :)

Do you have plans to expand the cover date search engine, so that people can search by other parameters, such as: Story title, Author, Artist, crossover title etc?

Thanks for ya time, keep the new-site-bits comming (when possible :)

Thanks for the kind words. It's almost enough to make me forget that Australia just beat the All Blacks to take the Bledisloe Cup! Almost.

Yep, I'm planning to add a search facility to the whole site before too long! (Don't hold your breath though).
