Marvel Hostess Ads Featuring Spider-Man

Summary: Spidey bribes his way out of the Boss Man's trap with Hostess Fruit Pies. This ad can be found in Master of Kung Fu #28 (as well as other comics from this month)

Summary: After Aunt May is kidnapped for $50k ransom, Spider-Man tricks the kidnappers with a briefcase full of Twinkies...they don't seem to mind the switch. This ad can be found in Marvel Two-In-One #13 (as well as other comics from this month)

Summary: Peter ducks out on his date with MJ to stop Man Mountain Marko, but he leaves her with Hostess Cup Cakes to enjoy while he's gone...and she does. This ad can be found in Howard the Duck #2 (as well as other comics from this month)

Summary: Spider-Man thwarts a robbery attempt by two burglars interested in taking all of a store's Twinkies. This ad can be found in Master of Kung Fu #40 (as well as other comics from this month).

Summary: After waking up as a prisoner of the Fly, Spider-Man distracts the villain with a Twinkie from his utility belt...the Fly is then easily defeated. This ad can be found in Marvel Triple Action #32 & Marvel Two-In-One #21 (as well as other comics from this month)

Summary: Spider-Man saves boxing champion Aldo Moomjay from a bomb explosion set off by the referee, aka The Foe. Spidey using a Hostess Cup Cake and tosses in the mouth of the Referee, stopping him from counting down the explosion. This ad can be found in Marvel Two-In-One #25, Fantastic Four #180, Thor #258 (as well as other comics from this month).

Summary: When Peter and MJ are attacked on their vacation by a mindless mob, Spider-Man tracks down their leader, Simon the Evil Swami. Spidey then breaks his mind control over the group by giving them Hostess Fruit Pies...the crowd then cheers for Spidey. This ad can be found in Pink Panther #42 (as well as other comics from this month).

Summary: In retaliation for Spider-Man rejecting her love, Madam Web sets out to frame Spider-Man for crimes he didn't commit. Spidey gets her to stop her plan by offering her Hostess Twinkies...he then hands her over to the authorities. This ad can be found in Marvel Two-In-One #29 (as well as other comics from this month).

Summary: When the criminal lawyer, Ralph G. Fake, converts himself to the monster Legal Eagle in order to destroy the Bill of Rights, Spider-Man sets a trap for him. The trap, of course, is a pile of Hostess Cup Cakes and the Legal Eagle cannot resist. Spidey then hands him over to the authorities. This ad can be found in Marvel Two-In-One #33 (as well as other comics from this month).

Summary: The villain Printout Man jams all computers at a bank causing the customers to rile up with complaints. Spider-Man accosts Printout Man only to find he has a vault filled with Hostess Cup Cakes...Spidey then hands the distracted villain over to the authorities. This ad can be found in Walt Disney Comics and Stories #446 (as well as other comics from this month).

Summary: When a burglar attempts to steal the Cope Emerald by using multiple projections of himself, Spider-Man identifies the 'real' one by baiting him with Hostess Cup Cakes. This ad can be found in Nova #18, Marvel Two-In-One #37 (as well as other comics from this month).

Summary: When Spider-Man is cornered by The Chairman, a villain who uses a gun to turn people into chairs, the webslinger is bailed out by two children. They throw Hostess Twinkies at the villain causing his gun (and his plan!) to backfire. This ad can be found in Walt Disney Comics and Stories #450 (as well as other comics from this month).

Summary: Spider-Man stops the Home Wrecker from demolishing a building (and him!) by tossing some Hostess Fruit Pies the villain's way. The distracted villain is then easily webbed up. This ad can be found in The Defenders #61 (as well as other comics from this month).

Summary: When Spider-Man witnesses Photoman, a villain who uses his camera to immobilize his victims so he can rob them, he decides to trick him. Spidey pretends like the Photoman's camera froze him, tempting the bad guy to look in his pockets. The villain falls for it and finds Hostess Twinkies in Spidey's suit. The distracted villain is easily webbed up. This ad can be found in Hulk #233 (as well as other comics from this month).

Summary: During a battle with the villain Hotshot that Spider-Man senses he might lose, he decides to distract Hotshot with some irresistible Hostess Twinkies. With Hotshot focused on the Twinkies, Spidey is able to defeat him. This ad can be found in Iron Man #122 (as well as other comics from this month).

Summary: When Spider-Man is attacked by the evil Karate expert, June Jitsui, he realizes he needs to keep her hands busy so he can take care of her feet. The solution: toss some Hostess Twinkies her way! The plan works and the distracted villainess is then webbed up with ease. This ad can be found in Doctor Strange #38 (as well as other comics from this month).

Summary: Spider-Man prevents the villain Demolition Derby from stealing the Faith Diamond by tempting him with delicious Hostess Twinkies. The villain can do nothing but tip his cap to Spider-Man. This ad can be found in Walt Disney Comics and Stories #472 (as well as other comics from this month).

Summary: In analogous story the first Hostess (also named Spider-Man in the Trap), Spidey is snared by the Boss Lady and her goons. But he is able to get out of their net trap by tempting one of the goons with Hostess Twinkies. The freed Spider-Man then webs up the Boss Lady. This ad can be found in Star Trek #3 (as well as other comics from this month).

Summary: After saving a child from two kidnappers, Spider-Man gives the young boy some Hostess Twinkies to distract him while he goes after the bad guys. This ad can be found in Avengers #206 (as well as other comics from this month).

Summary: Spider-Man is on the lookout for an evil human computer who is making every computer in the city go haywire and even ruining all the kids' electronic games. Spidey tracks him down to an arcade, distracts him with Hostess Cupcakes, then unmasks him to reveal a middle aged man. This ad can be found in Ghost Rider #58 (as well as other comics from this month).

Summary: While on a date with his dream girl, Lisa Skye, Peter Parker is tossed in to the river by a group of punks. Peter emerges from the water as Spider-Man distracts the street toughs with Hostess Cupcakes, then webs them up. He then goes back into the water and comes out as Peter Parker so that Lisa doesn't realize he is Spider-Man. This ad can be found in Marvel Two-In-One #82 (as well as other comics from this month).

Summary: Spider-Man is killed by Morlun on his way to a date. Unfortunately the Hostess treats were unable to distract Morlun. This story can be found in 2015's Spider-Verse #1.
