Spider-Man & Captain America: Doctor Doom's Revenge was another early action game for Amiga and Commodore. Spider-Man and Captain America vs. Dr. Doom - for the sake of the planet!
Publisher: | Medallist, MicroProse |
Developer: | Paragon Software |
This came with a little comic outlining the story (Doom has stolen a nuclear missile and is threatening to blow up New York, so Cap enlists Spidey's help to go to Latveria and stop him) and a great information book set up like the "Marvel Universe Sourcebooks".
The game itself had comic pages that you would read and then you would enter an action scene where it would be a one-on-one battle (a la "Mortal Kombat") pitting Cap and Spidey against the likes of the Batroc, Hobgoblin, Electro, Boomerang, the Grey Gargoyle, the Rhino, Eduardo Lobo, Machete, and more. The comic pages would alternate between featuring Spidey & Cap, as they had split up, Spidey searching for the missile in hopes of disarming it, and Cap looking to bring Doctor Doom to justice. Spider-Man had limited webbing in the combat sequences.
