The Black Cat is out prowling - she knows the whole story of Ben/Peter - then comes across some vampire creature. Meanwhile, Ben and Peter visit the graves of May and Ben Parker together. As they leave they both know someone is following them, so use their skills to elude, switch to their respective costumes then double back on him. They follow him to a private detective agency called Cat's Eye.
The guy was looking for Felicia - who was missing - and Peter was the last person she left to find. The two Spideys go off in search of her. She is being tormented by the vampire-type thing who convinces her Spidey is at the centre of her trauma.
Elsewhere, MJ is in a meeting with 'Rollfe' about a job modeling maternity-wear. Peter and Ben come across Black Cat who flies at the them, PO'd. These other three shadowy guys are with her. Ben takes on them while Cat tells Spider that she hates him because she gave him all her heart. After Ben's done with the three, the Vampire guy returns. He's called D'Spayre and Ben apparently knows him from his past.
Ben sees Cat is about to strike Peter and calls out to her, breaking D'Spayre's spell. The three of them kick arse and D'Spayre crumbles in front of them. Cat swings off saying Peter truly is her friend and that she's glad to have met Ben.
Peter and Ben decide to carry on being themselves, with Peter continuing his life with MJ/The Bugle and so on. Peter goes home to tell MJ while Ben packs his things at his apartment ready to leave the city.
This first issue is pretty stupid to say the least - in content anyway. The whole deal with the detective's office was nonsense. Not only that but D'Spayre was a poor villain that wasn't even followed through because he just disappeared.
