Again please forgive no cover scans. I am getting close to figuring them out. The story starts with Spider-man slinging through the city. His thoughts explain that he's off to the Bugle to get some cash. Landing in a cleaning stock room, he begins to change when his Spidey sense sets off, and a caretaker enters the room. Where's Peter? His stuck up on the ceiling! Close one!
After exiting the room, Peter bumbs into Ned Leeds. As the two walk around, Jonah bumbs into them mooaning that Peter didn't get any pics of Carnage and Spidey (Last issue.) That's when Peter gives Jonah a thick wad of Carnage vs Spider-man pics. Jumping for joy, JJJ pays Peter. At this point, a phone rings and Jonah picks it up. On the other end of the line is the Kingpin. He has some very interesting news for Jameson. The Shocker has been released and is on parole.
Peter and Ned are sent to interview Herman as he leaves the prison. As expected, Herman says nothing so Peter places a Spidey tracer on him. Later Peters back in the costume following Herman. As Herman enters his new apartment, he is startled as a voice says "Hiya Herman!" Out of the blue. Of course it's Spidey saying that he's watching Herman. Peter then leaves and changes
Later on Peters out on the street talking to MJ on a phone. MJ says that she can't come out tonight which makes Peter sad. Walking past Silver Spoon, he spots MJ in the window with a friend called Laurence Gentry (Incase you didn't know, Gentry is the second porcupine who is mad about MJ and envoius of Peter.)
Peter storms in saying to MJ that he was mad that she was cheating on him and then storms out. MJ can't believe what she is hearing and goes to follow Peter. When the two have left the scene, Gentry decides it's time to become the porcupine again and get MJ for himself by killing Peter and Spider-man.
Back at the Bugle, Jonah enters his office to find the Shocker sitting in his chair. Shocker explains that for $500,000 he'll take Spider-man out for him. Almost giddy with happiness, Jonah quickly accepts.
Now we see the Enforcers, riding around town looking for Spidey. After they're introduction, they spot Spidey and he is quickly lassoed down. Spider-man lands with a bang on front of there car. The Enforcers have picked the wrong day to fight him as he is still annoyed with MJ. Spider-man quickly finishes them off when Gentry shows up behind him and shots him in the back with a few Disrupter Needles (Or so he calls them.)
Stunned, Spider-man climbs a wall (He didn't notice it was Gentry) and is happily greeted by none other than the Shocker with JJJ flying over head in a helicopter. One quick zap is all that it takes to knock Spider-man off the building and in the water below. Shocker finishes off the issue by saying "I've done it! I am the man who defeated Spider-man!" To Be Continued...
Well pretty average issue. Nothing nail bitting and plus Spidey really got kained (His Spider-sense would have stopped Gentry getting him)
I hate this art with a passion. It's so... kiddy (Sure it's a kids mag but hey)
