It's movie time once more, and that means another series of coloring books from the nice guys at Funtastic. These books as usual are confined to the UK/NZ/Aus/SA market only.
There are 24 pages in this coloring book. Size is 8.25" x 11.75". Paper stock is bleached white, but still relatively rough. Far from glossy. Actually, that's probably just fine for a coloring book.
The artwork seems to be completely new for this book, it's not taken from any source that I recognize. Spider-Man stars on 90% of the pages, with the New Green Goblin on the remainder. No sign of Venom or Sandman at all. The New Green Goblin doesn't feature on the cover at all.
The pictures make heavy use of perspective, they're drawn from crazy extreme camera angles. There's not much variety here. Spidey in standard poses, with New York buildings in the background. Repeat, with or without buildings. Twenty-four pages isn't a lot, but it's enough to cover all the permutations here.
This book isn't large, and it isn't particularly inspiring. Paper and external cover is fine, but when you're reduced to saying that about a book, it's a clear sign that this isn't a very inspiring offering. I can't remember what I paid for it - but it wasn't a lot. Even so, this was clearly just another day at the office for Funtastic.
I'm gonna give out a sub-par two-web rating here. This is a boring book which only barely ties in with the movie.
Strangely, this book is completely different from the other Funtastic coloring book, Spider-Man 3: Deluxe Colouring Book (Funtastic).
