Spider-Man 2: The Movie (Panini Sticker Album Boxed Set)

Background

This "Boxed Set" is a "USA only" cut-down and pre-packaged edition of the full-sized Spider-Man 2: The Movie (Panini Sticker Album) album and associated 2004 Panini Spider-Man 2 Stickers sticker set.

The USA did also get the complete album and collectible stickers, but for also offered this convenient pocket-sized no-collecting-required edition for the time-conscious/budget-conscious Spider-Man nerd in your family.

Story Details

Specifically:

• The album is way smaller, it's 6" x 6" (instead of magazine-sized).
• The album has only 24 pages, not the 32 pages.
• The sticker set is reduced from 156 stickers down to 72 stickers.
• A complete (reduced) sticker set is included in the box!

Although, I gotta say, the "72 sticker" thing is a bit of a scam. Firstly, the side of the box boldly announces "Animate the Story with Over 72 Stickers!"

And yet there are only 72 stickers. Is 72 stickers really "over 72 stickers?" I'm not entirely sure that I can agree with that. And to make things worse, half the stickers have been shrunk down to half-size. A bunch of the vertical stickers have been reduced down so that they fit "two stickers per sticker," if you know what I mean.

General Comments

So, this version of the 154 sticker collectible sticker set and album features only part of the album, and only some of the stickers, none of the collecting, and what does remain has been made significantly smaller.

But hey, it comes in a box, right?!

Overall Rating

If we were calling things "mid" back in 2004, then I don't think this would even qualify as "mid".

It's a perfectly adequate 3-Web sticker set... made worse. Two webs, and that's being generous I feel.
