New Avengers (Vol. 1) #43
Background
In the Savage Land Spidey was separated from the New Avengers when a Tyrannosaurus Rex attacked them. After meeting up with Ka-zar, King of the Savage Land, Spidey was confronted by the Captain America that was onboard the Skrull ship that crashed.

Spidey tell Cap that he wishes he was the real Cap but the real Captain America is dead. Cap thinks Spidey is a Skrull and asks Ka-zar for help in getting back to the US, Ka-zar tells him that Captain America is dead. Cap then tells them he doesn't have time for this and starts to walk away. Shanna tells him to stop, after a brief fight with Spidey, Ka-zar, Shanna and Zabu, Cap is drugged with a dart and revealed to be a Skrull. Spidey says he knew Cap was a Skrull, when Ka-zar scratches Spidey with a dart he's confirmed to be human. Meanwhile "Cap" is still saying he's Captain America and he's a human.
Months ago on a Skrull world, the Skrull Queen disguised as Jessica Drew is telling a Skrull named Pitt'o that he and the other volunteers will be remembered as a heroes to the empire. Later at a ritual that transforms Skrulls into humans, Pitt'o becomes Steve Rodgers. Later we see how Pitt'o is brainwashed into thinking he is Captain America. Meanwhile "Jessica" reveals that it is not enough to physically defeat an enemy but destroying them from the inside out is much more rewarding, and they must win this battle that's why they have gone to all this trouble, she tell the Skrulls to put "Captain America" with the rest of the "Heroes".
Later we see the "Heroes" waking up onboard a Skrull ship. They escape and decide to head to Earth, as the ship is damaged the "heroes" crash in the Savage Land. Back in the present Spidey and the others hear gunfire and decide to head towards the action...
General Comments
OK it's nice to see the Death of Captain America has not been retconned by the Skrull attack, although I am annoyed that it appears all the Heroes onboard the Skrull ship are Skrulls. I'm sure I read somewhere that some of them would be genuine.
