Well, I went down to my comic shop expecting to buy The New Avengers #1 (among other titles that I buy) but I found out that they had sold out of the normal version and only have The Directors Cut! I get more stuff, like alternate covers and the script for the comic but it costs more! Let's compare: my comic shop sold The New Avengers #1 (Normal Version) at 1 pound 80 pence. While the Directors Cut sold at 3 pounds 20! I don't know the dollar price but I know that the Directors Cut is more! It's an outrage! Ok, maybe not an...outrage. But it made me not have enough money to buy Amazing Spider-Man #115! Oh well, lets reveiw.

Oh yeah, by the way, I know i'm not a New Avengers reveiwer (i'll leave that to Frank Man) but since no one has reveiwed the DC (Directors Cut) version I thought I might as well do it. Now, i'm not going to reveiw the actual story, if you want the story review read Frank Man's reveiw of The New Avengers #1. I'm gonna reveiw the extra's at the back of the issue. If you don't know what a directors cut is, well, basically it's got some extra bits at the back of the issue. Lets go!
Well, after the story we have a page saying who designed and made these extras then we have one of the alternate covers for The New Avengers #1. It is a section of the giant alternate cover by Joe Quesada. It is just showing Spider- Man on a chimney or something. Next page is a double spash page showing the whole of the alternate Quesada cover. Next extra is the whole script of this issue by Brian Michael Bendis with some pictures from the comic (not inked though) by David Finch to go along with the script. The next treat is a look at that giant splash page that shows all the broke out criminals (Page 20 and 21) and it numbers all the villains then says who they are down the bottom. Then it has a short profile on all these villains that says their first appearance, their most recent appearance and a brief history on them. Last extra is a page that shows the covers the of The New Avengers #'s 2, 2 Alternate, 3 and 5 by David Finch.
Well, the extras are okay. Not that great but okay. The best part is probably the script because its nice to see how the comic was brought together and the illustrations help to remember what panel this exactly was in the comic but even that gets a bit boring after a while. The profiles were too brief (except for Electro's which took up a whole page). And I don't really care about future issue covers, you're gonna see them only in a few months when that issue comes out. To be honest, these extras just seem a bit "meh" to me. And it cost me 1 pound 40 pence extra!
Not that great but not THAT bad. A pretty average issue (well, the extras part). An average 3 Webs.
