Background

This second story picks up from where the first part (in Marvel Heroes (UK Magazine) #13) left off....

Story 'The Mitey Avengers'

Marvel Heroes (UK Magazine) #13 (Story 2)
Summary: Avengers
Publisher: Panini Magazines
Writer: Ferg Handley
Pencils: Kev Hopgood
Inker: Gary Erskine

M.O.D.O.K. is unconscious, but his M.I.N.I.D.O.C.s are running rampant in Iron Man's system, where (according to the earlier words of the villain of the piece) they will "turn Iron Man into a mindless cyborg". Well that can't be good. However, the heroes can't think of a way to remove Iron Man's armor without hurting the man in side.

Cue the Cavalry music once more. Hank and Jan (Ant-Man and The Wasp) shrink down to sub-miniature mode and go fight their way into the heart of Iron Man's systems. I'll spare you the details - suffice to say that with a little help from The Vision they manage to reprogram the M.I.N.I.D.O.C.s to undo the damage they wrought, and the day is saved.

Returning to full size, Jan insists that she and Hank are long overdue for a holiday, and they head off for Hawaii. Final dialog:

Thor: (to Jan) "Thou Goest, Girl!"

Cap: (to Thor) "Don't do that, Thor. Seriously. Don't."

General Comments

This magazine hasn't been a fertile ground for modern classics. And perhaps these brace of mini-tales aren't great, but they're certainly good enough for this context. Having the two segments dovetail together was a nice move, but each story also had its own shape.

Overall Rating

Objectively speaking, the story is really only a three web tale. But M.I.N.I.D.O.C.s is such an excellent acronym, and the final Thor/Cap interaction was such a nice wrap-up that I'm going to throw in a bonus web and take the final rating up to four.
