Background

This is one of the many colouring/activity books which were published near-simultaneously in 2012/13 by Parragon in the UK, and by Scholastic Australia in Australia/NZ.

Story Details

This book is standard dimensions, 8.4" x 10.6". It is squared bound, glossy-card cover.

There are 32 pages on low/average grade paper. Each page features red and/or blue borders and highlights. A couple of the pages feature full-colour art, but most use only black and white line-art.

The content consists of a typical mix of a few colouring pages, with lots of mazes and matching puzzles. Find the words, find the matching pairs, find which line leads to Electro, count the spiders, join the dots. Etc...

General Comments

The puzzles are all perfectly adequate. The 32 page-count is decent enough, for a relatively low asking price of £3.99 (UK price). The paper quality is a bit of a let-down (especially since most of the other Parragon books produced around this time used a superior paper quality and full-color computer-shaded artwork).

Oh, and of course there are 20 tattoos. This is a bit of a scam, since there's only half a dozen decent-sized and nicely-coloured tattoos featuring Spider-Man. The rest of the tattoos are tiny little black spiders.

Overall Rating

This is an average product, for an average price.

Yeah, tattoos are cool. But even the tattoos manage to be only just mediocre.

This book probably deserves three webs. But only just!
