Comics : Incredible Hulk (Vol. 1)

During the final test of a new gamma radiation bomb for the U.S. military, Dr. Bruce Banner saves the life of teenager Rick Jones, who has unknowingly gained access to the testing ground. His good deed results in a massive exposure of gamma radiation that periodically transforms him into the Hulk, an indestructible green-skinned monster whose strength and destructive capacity is unmatched.

As the Hulk, his one goal is to be left alone. Despite this simple request, he is frequently on the run from the military, other gamma-powered beings, and normal humans who are terrified of him.

Despite his general hatred of humans, there are some that Hulk will reluctantly call "friends": Betty Ross, Rick Jones, and Dr. Leonard Samson (sometimes).
