Comics : Ultimate Spider-Man Fun Pack (Hunter Leisure)
This review was first published on: Dec 2015.
Hunter Leisure is an Australian-based company that produces a wide range of "leisure-based" products. They produce toys, sweets, sports equipment, baby products, and every few years they seem to spit out a Spider-Man "Fun Pack".
This is their "Ultimate Spider-Man Fun Pack". There's no date on the product, but I bought mine at K-Mart in 2015, so that's the year I'm using to describe it.
Ultimate Spider-Man Fun Pack (Hunter Leisure)
Year 2015 : SM Title
The pack contains:
- 6 x Printed Black & White Coloring Pages (Letter/A4 Size)
- 1 x Top-Hinged Pad of Blank Pages (8 pages, 4.8" x 8.5")
- 2 x Sticker Sheets (each 3.7" x 6" with 8 or 9 stickers)
- 1 x Temporary Tattoo Sheet (3.7" x 6" with 8 tattoos)
- 4 x Short Coloring Pencils (Red, Blue, Yellow, Green)
- 1 x Pencil Sharpener
All of the artwork is from the Ultimate Spider-Man TV (2012) series, and features only Spider-Man.
There's not a lot inside the packet, but the quality is all perfectly adequate.
I can't remember what I paid for this little packet of assorted odds-and-ends. Perhaps five New Zealand dollars, which is maybe $3.50 in U.S. dollars given current exchange rates. I didn't expect much for my money, and I really can't complain about the meagre contents.
Hunter Leisure has no emotional attachment to any of this stuff. Spider-Man is a brand. A product like this is nothing more than an equation of cost vs. margin, revenue, turnover, stock-on-hand and distribution channels.
You pay a few bucks, you get a licensed product that entertains a child for a period of minutes, or even a couple of hours.
