Everything about Blaze is really covered in the "Spider-Man vs. Blaze" history. He was a fictional villain designed and costumed by the three ESU students, Ashley, Thomas, and Barry as part of a plot to prove Spider-Man's intellectual inadequacies. They provided Blaze with a pair of flame-throwing pistols and some stun bombs.

Three different people have worn the Blaze costume.

Ashley wore it for a threatening video clip.
Human Torch wore it for the mock battle with Spider-Man.
Kirk Donaghue wore it in Spectacular #123.
